Great Expectations: Premeditated Resentments

We live in an imperfect world. If you are a perfectionist you will find it hard to cope with the chaotic rhythm of today's world.

What is a perfectionist? Many people think that perfectionists are merely neat freaks. People who never have a hair out of place and who have houses that are kept like museums come to mind.

What about the sloppy control freak? He is not necessarily neat, his desk is usually a mess, and he may leave his underwear on the floor. However this perfectionist sets the bar so high for himself that he always fails. Why bother to be neat if things will eventually get messed? Why keep a neat desk if more papers keep coming?

He sets the bar high for his wife, children and co-workers so they constantly disappoint him. The more he is disappointed, the tighter he tries to control people, places and things. Chronic disappointment leads to anger and anger leads to resentment. He resents people for not living up to his expectation of who he thinks they should be.

Once resentment is harbored it is like dancing with a gorilla. The dance is over when the gorilla says its over. We harbor resentments toward people for perceived affronts to us that they have no idea they committed. Then we get angry and miserable to teach them a lesson. This becomes a vicious cycle.

How can we prevent this chain of events?

- Learn to set boundaries for yourself

- Learn to respect the boundaries of others

- Learn to have realistic expectations

- Learn not to depend on the outcome of your expectations

- When you are upset learn to discuss your problem instead of stuffing it

- Learn to look for the good in every situation

- Learn to look for the lesson in every bad situation

- Learn to accept responsibility for your actions and avoid blaming others

The minute you have an unrealistic expectation of yourself or others you are committing the crime of premeditated resentment. The punishment for this crime is life imprisonment, alone and miserable, in your own head.

ADHD Supplements FDA Registered - How Does That Benefit ADHD Kids?

When you decide that it might be the right time to consider ADHD supplements, FDA registered should be on the top of your list of criteria. It is important to remember that just because something is natural, it does not necessarily follow that it will be good for you.

Checking that a product is registered with the FDA is simply good sense. As a concerned parent, what should you consider when you are in the process of choosing a natural ADHD supplement?

Without a doubt, natural treatments are very 'in' right now. While this is not a bad thing, it has resulted in some manufacturers jumping on the band wagon. When a manufacturer is legally permitted to place the word 'natural' on their product, they nearly always charge a higher price for it as well.

Because people are more inclined to choose natural products, the manufacturers can be reasonably sure that the occurrence of the word 'natural' on their labels and advertising will ensure that their product will be a better seller.

Unfortunately, the really useful ingredients, the ones that can be the most beneficial, are also expensive. Manufacturers will sometimes only permit very little of these expensive ingredients to be used in their products. The intention is to include enough so as to label the product as including them. As a result of their being in such small amounts, they are rendered all but useless.

Many parents are reluctant to allow their children to be medicated with the routinely prescribed ADHD medications, such as Adderall or Ritalin. However, parents need to be cautious when choosing a natural remedy as well. As a parent, you have the right to question both the product and the manufacturer.

This is why it is important to choose ADHD supplements FDA registered. Another thing to look out for is whether or not the business is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited one. Any complaints against the product or the manufacturer can be discovered if the business is BBB accredited.

Aside from ADHD supplements FDA approved and manufactured by a BBB accredited business, you should also find out whether or not there is a guarantee, and, of course, the duration of the guarantee. Find out if the guarantee is conditional or unconditional. Another thing to consider is whether the product really does contain only natural ingredients, as well as who the developer of the product is.

Fortunately, there are herbal and homeopathic solutions for any persons who wish to treat the problem naturally. The herbal remedies have ingredients such as ginkgo biloba and Gotu kola; they are not nutritional supplements. Rather, they are herbal approaches that are well-known to stimulate brain function without acting as stimulants.

The homeopathic remedies feature ingredients that have been successfully and in use for hundreds of years. Recently, studies have indicated clearly that some of them are effective. It is critical to evaluate modern homeopathic remedies with great care. Some contain unnatural ingredients and offer little, if any, benefit.

If your child has ADHD, you should not ignore the numerous benefits of some homeopathic remedies. Simply do more research, and take care to find a company that is FDA registered.

Four Easy Steps To Make Sure Your Article Marketing Efforts Are Profitable

Many article marketers only use article writing in order to generate and increase traffic toward their websites. If you have developed a nice website that makes a good use of this traffic and turns visits into conversions, you will see increased profit. However, majority of websites and their marketers have not created good conversion plan, which should be a backbone of any website if you intend to make profit with it.

Many writers limit themselves to marketing only one product and fail to do that properly, missing on the opportunity to generate sales from their website visitors. Visitors will not do much for your business, unless they fulfill their purpose on your website, which is conversion. Your business may consider various actions as conversions and not only direct sales - new memberships, subscriptions, downloads, etc. The point is to plan out meticulously what the traffic that you generate through your article marketing should be used for.

The good idea would be to have the monetization of your website planned out in advance, before you invest your efforts into article marketing and driving traffic toward it. Articles that you write for marketing purpose should be made to serve that purpose. If you do not have a clear idea how to monetize your website, your article marketing efforts will most likely be in vain.

There are several easy steps that can help you with your monetization efforts.

First would be to write an e-book or any kind of informative and useful tutorials, which you should offer to your website visitors for free, if they subscribe on your website.

The second step should be to create a website, which will have a sole purpose to advertise the e-book that you are offering for free, but constructed so that only the visitors who subscribed will be able to receive it.

Third step is to create an informative product in electronic form, which should have a really low price (anywhere between $5 and $25), and which you will offer to your subscribed visitors who have downloaded an e-book.

The fourth and last step would be to create another, more expensive product, within the price range of 50 to $100, which should be offered only to those visitors who purchased the first, less expensive product.

If you do not have it in yourself to write an e-book, or create products, you will still be able to earn money by promoting and selling the products that are already offered online through various affiliate programs.

The opportunities with this system are limitless and you will be able to promote and generate sales for as many products as you like.

The Bali Company is one of the best American manufacturers of underwear. The Bali Bra Company was founded in 1927 by Sam Stein. Homeland by John Jakes

Bravo, Mr. Jakes!

You've done it again!

The author of "North and South", Heaven and Hell" and "The Bastard" series has remained one of my favorite authors.

The book, Homeland" takes off where "The Bastard" books ended. He intertwines a story about the "Crown" (formally Kronner) family who immigrated to America in the 1800's from Germany. It's about the struggle to survive the Civil and Cuban wars along with the start of labor unions and the violence that went along with them.

Joe Crown, the patriarch, owns a brewery in Chicago. His son, Joe, Jr. works at the brewery and does menial jobs. It is by his choice. He also is a sympathizer with the union movement, which will have severe consequences. Paul is his nephew who has recently come to America and finds his calling in an entirely different profession. As a photographer, he covers many historical events during the turn of the twentieth century. Joe's daughter, Fritzi, aspires to become an actress, an occupation frowned upon by Joe. Joe's wife has become involved in the temperance movement, much to the chagrin of her husband.

Historically, the author writes about Teddy Roosevelt and the "Rough Riders", the eccentric Henry Ford, the Vanderbilts and many other notable people of the time period. Any teacher wanting to capture a student's interest in this time period should encourage the reading of this book. It weaves fiction with history and sidesteps the humdrum of historical memorization. John Jakes weaves fiction and history into a saga that captures your attention while teaching history.

Definitely, a read and learn book!

Exercises to Create Support Environments

Creating supportive environments is imperative to your success as an entrepreneur. It goes without saying that if you have environments that will support you and your passion, it's going to be much easier and more enjoyable for you to do your work. In this article, I'm going to touch upon a few more of the environments that I believe are most essential to your success and well being.

Let me ask you something. Are you like me and by about mid-February, you've had it with the gray day after day? Not feeling sunlight for days at a time really affects my mood and my motivation levels. And sometimes, when you work at home, it's easy not to go outside for days at a time. I try to make any effort to spend at least 15 minutes outside, soaking up some sun. What about natural light in your work space? Windows? Clean and fresh air? Are these things part of your everyday creative environment, as they should be?

Exercise 1:

If you aren't getting enough natural light, fresh air, and can't see the outside world, you are stunting your creative flow. If there is anything you can do to change or improve your natural environment in this way, I encourage you to do it now.

Your energy field is one of your most important environments. It doesn't only include your own energy and the sources from which you get it, but it also includes the energy, positive or negative, that you get from your spouse, your friends, your children, your other family members, and your clients or customers.

Since our relationships are so important to us, it is very difficult sometimes to set appropriate boundaries, and we tend to tolerate behaviors and actions that are detrimental to our own well being. In order for you to be as successful as you want to be (remember that everyone's definition of success is different), you need to take a hard look at the relationships that are not nurturing you, that are sending negative vibes into your energy field, and recognize that you are allowing it. And then you need to make adjustments.

You will either need to set clear and solid boundaries, or you will need to let go, as hard as that may be. I found I had to do this with a few very old friends several years ago. As much as we share a history that I treasure, when I was making some major transitions in my life, the only "support" they could give me was to remind me how miserable it all was, even when I had moved through the misery of it and had created a new and happy life for myself. They just wanted to stay stuck in the misery of it, and you know why…because they were miserable! It was hard, especially because we had a lot of mutual friends, but I have never regretted that decision. And you know what happened? Several new amazingly wonderful supportive friendships showed up in my life soon afterwards.

Cutting ties with old friends is hard, but dealing with not-so-supportive family members is even more difficult. My favorite tactic is to not react to anything they say or do, to just simply respond. It is very hard to not be attached to the feelings that a family member can arise in you (guilt, worthlessness, stupidity), but at some point you have to take back your power and not allow them to make you feel that way anymore. Their issues are their issues and you need to let them own that - don't carry it for them.

I have found that when I am able to respond instead of react, they tend to give up and move on much faster. And each time I do this, I get better at it, and they get the message more and more clear. And suddenly I have found them on my side, being a cheerleader for my work and my life. Believe me that it is worth it to stand up for yourself with grace.

As for dealing with clients or customers who drain your energy, your best bet is to create an Ideal Client Profile and stick judiciously to it. The ICP is not a new concept, by any means, but it is one of the best ways to create an environment around your work that is full of supportive and wonderful people who love what you do and who make you want to do more for them because of it.

Exercise 2:

Choose one person, if needed, in both your personal and professional life to whom you either need to let go of, or set some clear boundaries with, and get to work.

You'll find that your inner environment will improve as you make positive changes to your outer environment. In addition, making space in your mind for your creativity to flow is important for you to be able to bring your best self into the world.

One of the ways to do this is to invest a bit of time each day into writing what Julia Cameron calls "Morning Pages," which is three pages of free writing at the beginning of each day to clear your mind of some of the unnecessary clutter. Sometimes what you write will seem trivial, but it's that trivial stuff that takes up much needed space in your head! Other times you'll enjoy some real breakthroughs. I highly recommend engaging in this practice. I have been journaling all my life, but the practice of Morning Pages really does help the creativity flow - besides that I believe that every life that is worth living is worth recording.

Exercise 3:

Your assignment then is to purchase a journal or notebook, or create a new file on your computer, and start tomorrow writing three pages of whatever comes to mind. Make this a daily practice and watch what happens.

Making an effort over time to create supportive environments for the things that are most important to you will open doors and opportunities that you might never have received otherwise. You deserve to be supported in your work and your life, so choosing to allow those people and things into it that bring out your best is not only a gift to yourself, but also a gift to the world.

Dangers of Dieting For Kids

There are dangers of dieting for kids. Dieting can be harmful to our children in the following ways:

1. Low-self Esteem 2. Sleep Disturbances 3. Poor Concentration and Attention Skills 4. Eating Disorders in Teenage Years 5. Adult Obesity 6. Depression 7. Suicide

It is important for parents to help their children develop healthy eating habits to reduce the dangers of dieting for their children.

Some crash diets do work. They work because they cut into calorie intake drastically. If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight. In the long term this method of dieting is disastrous because it slows down the metabolism. Then a person can actually gain weight while eating less. What happens is a very low calorie intake makes your body say, "I'm starving!"

Never put a child on a crash diet.

Child obesity can lead to an eating disorder. We see this all the time in the news media. One minute a child is gorging and the next minute he or she is in the bathroom bringing it all up again. That must be avoided.

When children are overweight they may be dissatisfied with their bodies. They can develop low self-esteem or depression. They need counseling.

Failure to obtain professional help for a child when needed can lead to drug or alcohol abuse. This complicates matters and makes finding solutions more difficult. A child my even try to take his or her own life.

Children sometimes continue to diet after reaching their proper weight.

Soon they are losing muscle because all the fat has been burned off.

They are starving.

Their may be periods of binge eating followed by starvation. That is not a happy Merry Go Round.

Child obesity should be treated by a physician. Buying diet pills off the shelf or going on binge or fad diets is not the answer. Your child must learn to accept his or her body and learn how to feed it properly. Psychological disorders must be attended to.

Your child will also need your undivided love and attention to avoid the dangers of dieting for kids. Teach your children when they are very young how to eat properly. Don't wait until they start to gain excessive weight. And don't overfeed your children, take them too often to fast-food joints or give them too many sweets. They do not need pizza every other day either. If your child asks for a candy bar, hand him or her a carrot.

Now that will go over big with the kids.

What is Cutaneous Lymphoma?

Cutaneous lymphoma is a type of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma involving the lymphocytes within the skin, specifically T-cells and B-Cells. This is a rare type of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma where the tumor growths are seen mostly as numerous lumps beneath the skin's surface and not in just a lymph node.

The lumps formed beneath the skin cutaneous lymphoma are due to a collection of the malignant cells in the skin. In an attempt to purge the system of the mutated cells, the body pushes the clustered malignant cells towards the surface of the skin. The most common type of cutaneous lymphoma is the cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The disease manifests itself in several stages:

* Pre-tumor stage - the skin is presented with raised, red patches that appear on the breasts or buttocks and somewhat mimics the appearance of other skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.

* Plaque stage - the patches are now irregularly shaped and can appear anywhere in the body. Hair loss in the affected skin area is also noted, and can be permanent if the condition is not treated.

* Tumor stage - the incidence of people progressing to this stag is quite small. The plaques can now form lumps and even ulcerate. Lymph nodes are also affected. The liver, lungs, and spleen is also at risk of being affected by the cutaneous lymphoma, but the cases are quite rare.

* Sezary syndrome - this is when the malignancy has spread and covers a large skin area. The malignant cells have also metastasized in the blood stream. Some patients have no plaques or tumors, but the entire integumentary system may be swollen, red and sore (l'homme rouge). The skin can also manifest desquamation or peeling off of skin.

Cutaneous lymphoma of T-cell origin is treated through a specific or a combination of treatment modalities that can range from topical or local to systemic. PUVA treatment is a combination of psoralen and UVA. After taking psoralen, the patient enters an enclosed room where rays of UVA is applied on the skin. However, extra care must be given for it is known that exposure to UV rays can predispose a person to skin cancer. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy is also done to help cure cutaneous lymphoma.

Cutaneous lymphoma can be hard to deal with for it can cause some severe changes in your appearance. A support group can help you combat the disease both in its physical and psychological aspects. Talk to your friends and family during hard times, and ask your doctor to refer you to a cancer support group to help you understand and cope with the effects of cutaneous lymphoma.
